NYSC: Ibadan Poly students protest against non-mobilisation for national service

Hundreds of students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, successful Oyo State, staged protests connected Monday against the refusal of the instauration to mobilise them for nationalist service.

The nationalist service, conducted by the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, is an avenue for graduates from universities and polytechnics to service their fatherland. However, immoderate graduates of the instauration who are owed for mobilisation connected Monday protested against the refusal of the instauration to mobilise them for the nationalist service.

The students connected Monday unopen the main gross of the instauration and different entrances of the institution.

The protesting students called connected the instauration and the NYSC to bash the needful.

The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Alhaji Soladoye Adewole, portion speaking with DAILY POST noted that the occupation is not peculiar to the institution.

According to him: “The substance is not peculiar to the Polytechnic Ibadan. It affected each schools that are moving part-time programmes.

“In the past, those who did ND part-time programmes and went for HND regular programmes usually went for NYSC. But present the argumentation has changed.

“It is not peculiar to us. Some of them did their ND connected part-time. They did spell for NYSC successful the past. Now, the NYSC said no. The absorption has gone to the NYSC office. The substance is being looked into.”
